Kerri Garbutt has dedicated her career to working with individuals with a range of offence histories, including those with or without complex psychological needs. She has the ability to work effectively with individuals irrespective of their complexity or the assumptions previously made in terms of their 'treatability'. She can effectively assess and establish appropriate treatment pathways for individuals, evaluate their progress in treatment and the level of risk they pose to themselves and others. She is also extremely effective at developing a therapeutic relationship which facilitates a individual's ability to make the changes they need in order to lead a healthy fulfilled and offence free future. She is also able to work effectively with individuals that have been victims of abuse, developing an individualised formulation and providing psychological treatment. Kerri is also able to work with individuals who are concerned about their risk of future offending and are seeking help to remain offence free.
She is considered an expert in her field and in particular she has significant expertise with sexual offenders, individuals with personality disorder and individuals with learning disabilities. As such she has developed national policies, designed and delivered specialised training packages, published research and presented at international conferences.
